Forget those comic-book heroes, David Chancellor and his rock climbers at Climb So Ill in St. Louis are the real spidermen. Scaling walls with an effortlessness that borders on magical, they are a joy to watch. (Spiderman wall painting by yours truly.)

David Chancellor is a beautiful man, inside and out, with extraordinary climbing skills. It was magical watching him and his climbers scale the walls so effortlessly. It was like breathing to them. In many ways they remind me of Icarus, trying to fly as close to the sun as they can without melting their wings.

Not only is David an amazing rock climber, he's got some amazing dreads as well. I loved them, and him.
